In a world that often glorifies fame and fortune, few stories reveal what true resilience really looks like. The journey of Paul NuRoyal, Founder and CEO of 2nd Chance Saves Lives, is one of extraordinary transformation—marked by triumph, injustice, personal tragedy, and a powerful mission of redemption.
Foundations in Discipline and Victory
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Paul NuRoyal—then known as Nutall—rose from a background of hardship to become a three-time World Kickboxing Champion between 1990 and 1992. His discipline, focus, and relentless drive earned him national recognition. He went on to mentor NBA All-Star Sean Elliott and served as personal security for the iconic Selena Quintanilla, positioning himself as a respected figure in both sports and entertainment.

A Path of Mentorship and Education
Following his athletic success, Paul relocated to Michigan, where he pursued higher education, earning degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science. He immersed himself in coaching, mentoring fighters, and preparing boxing legends such as Chris Byrd and Hasim Rahman, the latter of whom famously defeated Lennox Lewis in a heavyweight upset.
These years reflected a transition from physical competition to intellectual and emotional leadership—until life took an unthinkable turn.
A Crisis of Justice
NuRoyal was falsely accused by the U.S. Secret Service—a case where most charges were ultimately dismissed, but one remained, strategically retained to block any form of legal redress. His wrongful incarceration stole years of his life. And during that time, he faced a series of devastating losses: his mother, father, and eldest twin daughters all passed away during his sentence, victims of Hurricane Harvey and life’s cruel timing. He was denied the chance to say goodbye.
It was not just his freedom that was stripped—it was his right to mourn.

Turning Pain into Purpose
In the aftermath of this immense personal tragedy, Paul and his wife Tiffany chose not to retreat but to rise. They founded 2nd Chance, a platform that evolved into the 2nd Chance Saves Lives movement and TV series. Built to give voice to the voiceless, the initiative supports individuals who have been overlooked, wrongly accused, or denied justice.
What started as a deeply personal mission has since become a national lifeline. The upcoming docuseries, Nutall to NuRoyal, will document Paul’s journey from world champion to wrongly imprisoned, and ultimately to changemaker.

The Legacy Continues
Paul NuRoyal’s journey defies the conventional arc of success. His story is not polished for perfection—it is raw, real, and resilient. From the depths of personal loss and institutional failure, he emerged with a renewed purpose: to serve, to speak up, and to save lives through second chances.
“No matter what they take from you—your freedom, your family, your name—you still have the power to rebuild.”
